Hans Desmet

Hans Desmet graduated at the faculty of Applied Sciences from Ghent University in 2003 and did his Masters thesis on the subject of Liquid Crystal claddings for SOI nanophotonics. This work took place in Photonics group of the department Intec and the Liquid Crystals and Photonics Group of ELIS. He will continue his research in these groups as a PhD student doing research on waveguides in liquid crystals.

When graduated as an engineer in July 2003, Hans Desmet has won two awards, the Sidmar price 2003 and the Barco price 2003 for the best thesis.

The research of Hans Desmet is supported by the Fund for Scientific Research - Flanders (Belgium) and happens in association with Intec and ELIS.
